Anna Miltiadous BSc (hons)
I am currently undertaking a PhD in Biological Sciences at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds, Victoria, Australia. I currently work in the field of avian endocrinology, studying the effects of maternal hormones in the priming of adaptive behaviour in offspring, via deposition to the egg.
I have a passion for animal ethics and conservation and believe that this planet is a gift that requires protection and nurturing.
I started this blog in 2013 as part of my undergraduate Bachelor of Science through the Communicating Science unit. The three posts from 2013 formed an assessment piece, regarding online presences and opinion blogs. I am proud of the posts I published during that time and I still feel as strongly about this issue as I did then. I hope to continue to discuss important environmental, ethical and biological issues via this blog and raise awareness of the multiple issues that scientists, students and human beings in general need to address in order to safeguard the future of this beautiful planet we call home.
